“What a wonderful Herb Society meeting tonight with Lucie DuFresne talking about herbs in a medieval French household! She was so knowledgeable and had so many different herbs and mixtures to share with us! I appreciated that there were lots of people that contributed great questions and comments. We could easily have gone for at least another hour or more… I thought I was reasonably aware of the history of herbalism but this in-depth look at that particular era has me excited about delving back into the stories of herbalists of the past. Considering that we’re moving into what is already being called the “Post-Antibiotic Era”, a greater familiarity with the things that worked in the past combined with our modern scientific knowledge of hygiene and contagion might be a good way to go.”
